Foxtails by the road...

The other day we were out around the yard with Ruth and the kids... I stopped and showed Simon what we call a foxtail... I used to call them "kitty grass" because of the soft bushy tail... really they should be called Squirrel tails!  On our trip up to the Cities... when we would drive by them along the road Simon would point them out to us...  Once again with my camera in hand while going down to get the mail... I had to get one of them with the road behind after doing my chores... feeding a cow and calf hay and grain.  It is a new mother to the calf and they are getting used to each other... The cow is distracted by the feed and allows the new calf to nurse to its content!

I am off to work through the night at my NH... I just got a call from the bunch in KC with Hallel.. They had supper outside with a big group and Simon made two little friends, Mary and Maria... little Hispanic girls... "they want Simon to come back and visit again."  Hallel got on the phone and told me something to get me through the night... "Mom.  Little Sister Marie (their founder) tells us... we do things that we don't love, but we love what we do."  Thank you, Hallel, I needed to hear that and keep it close to my heart!  Bless-bless, Barb  and greetings from the 4 generations in Kansas City!
